Welcome to The Real Melrose!

Beth, my lovely wife, and I (along with our four children) have called Melrose home for a long time, and like so many of you, I love this place, its quiet beauty, its unique ethos and creativity, and the way neighbors still wave when you pass on the road. Over the past year, as talk of the Wildflowers Music Park began to ripple through our community, I began my effort to understand what was really being proposed and how it might affect us all.

That’s why I’ve created The Real Melrose  a space for clarity, conversation, thoughtful engagement, and action.

From the very beginning, I’ve tried to do my homework. In conducting my own due diligence I’ve spoken with local officials, law enforcement officers, festival organizers, and community leaders, including those in the towns where other GrassRoots festivals are held. I wanted to see, firsthand, what these events mean for their neighbors, their economies, law enforcement, and their local culture. What I found was encouraging. When managed responsibly, projects like Wildflowers don’t just bring music, they bring vitality, opportunity, and connection.

I’m not an investor or a board member. I’m simply a resident who believes that good information and open dialogue make stronger communities. My hope is that The Real Melrose becomes a place where facts come first and where we can all take part in shaping Melrose’s future together.

So whether you’re curious, skeptical, or cautiously optimistic, welcome. Explore the pages here, read the research, listen to different perspectives, and draw your own conclusions, and, if you’re in favor, ACT … now (I’ve made it easy). Because what happens at Wildflowers Music Park, and in Melrose more broadly, will help define who we are and what we become for years to come.

Let’s make sure that story is written by the people who know and love this place, and wish to preserve its welcoming, creative, and unique character.

Thank you for bringing clarity, reasoning, and love of people and place together on this website. Having you as a true neighbor to WildFlowers is one of the fortuitous coincidences of this project, and I have come to respect your knowlege and guidance. Thank you!
